Question by Gabriel: How bad is the “internet traffic” really on the UC application deadline?
I have my application pretty much done but I wanted to have my English teacher to read my personal statement one more time. The problem is that I wont get his feedback till Monday, November 30 at school. This is the deadline and I am wondering if I should just submit the application without this feedback to be sure my application is submitted. Does the UC webpage really crash many times and is it really a BIG problem?

I don’t know about the UC application, but I do know that there were server overloads for the University of Florida this fall. I answered a question here from someone who kept getting an error message when he tried to submit to UF; eventually persistence paid off and he was able to complete the application process after who knows how many tries.
See if you can get your English teacher’s comments on Monday morning (the earlier the better); then, just keep trying with the application. It’s completely understandable you’d like that last “once over” from your teacher!

My college counselor didnt just recommend that I dont turn in my UC app before November 30, she FORBID me from doing so. Last wednesday, with everything in hand, me and a few other students skipped classes and spent the whole day fixing (we already started it a few weeks ago) and editing our UC apps. We were all scared and nervous so our counselor gave us some cup noodles (supposedly it should calm us down) and, together, we turned in our UC apps. For about 2 weeks she did that with all the seniors intending to apply and we were like the last batch.
Forget your teacher… SUBMIT IT NOW!!!
Try to log in… there is your answer. The server is down. Many have abandoned all hope. There will be no chance of submitting in your UC app tomorrow morning. If I were you, I would stay up all night trying to log in. If you manage to log in… DONT LOG OUT!
Let me ask you this. Would you rather have the admissions board look over a mispelled word and forget about it, or would you rather have them not look at your application at all? SUBMIT IT. NOW… AT ALL COSTS! Good luck to you. I hope you heed my warning. Try to do it now… please.. dont wait.. its not worth it!
